We are looking for support educators for the group homes at Jakthornsgatan in Kronoparken and Odalvägen in Skåre.

The support educator will be a support in the quality work and holistic view regarding the care recipient. The goal is good living conditions for the care recipient in terms of participation and independence.

At the Jakthornsgatan group home, six care recipients aged 45-82 live, and at Odalvägen, six care recipients aged 25-79 live. All have varying needs for support in their daily lives. In addition to the support educator, nine and seven support assistants work in a service that runs around the clock every day of the year.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of support educator, you will work to support your colleagues in various communication methods and clarifying pedagogy based on the individual needs of the care recipient. You will work with implementation plans and social documentation based on current legislation as well as guidelines and instructions in our management system. Your work includes introducing new staff together with your colleagues, guiding and being a good role model in the pedagogical work. As a support educator, you will teach and implement new pedagogical methods in the work group. You should be proactive in the pedagogical work at the workplace.

As a support educator, you contribute to ensuring that the care recipient has the opportunity to live as meaningful and independent a life as possible.

The support educator is also part of the daily work around the care recipient. This includes care interventions and delegated health and medical care tasks such as insulin and feeding tubes. The work also involves some transfers as there are care recipients who need assistance with transfers via ceiling lifts. Working hours are during the day, evening, and every other weekend throughout the year. Night shifts may also occur if the service has needs.

In Karlstad municipality, there is a network for support educators, supervisors, and operational developers who meet to exchange experiences and learn from each other. In addition to our internal network, there is a network for support educators where students training to become support educators are also welcome.

Qualifications

For the role of support educator, we are looking for someone who has:

Education as a support educator 200 YH.
Work experience in LSS operations.
Good computer skills and documentation habits.
Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
Good physical ability, as the care recipients have different needs for support and help in their daily lives.

If you are also a trained nursing assistant, this is an advantage as the work involves a considerable amount of delegated health and medical care tasks.

You are flexible, open, and see opportunities instead of obstacles.
